Can't believe I'm on my 2nd pg and have to asked this but never had anything that felt remotely contraction-y with DS til labour.
Is it when the bump goes all hard? Mine does sometimes but usually with baby's bump poking out one side making it all pointy...then goes away. Is that a BH?

Sounds like it to me!! I'm on my second pregnancy and am getting loads of BH, after having none when I was pregnant with DS. I've read that they are more common with second and subsequent pregnancies.

My bump just goes hard and it's quite uncomfortable, but not painful. I think it was someone on here that described it as if someone had put a sheet round your middle and was pulling it tight from behind you - I thought that summed it up quite well. Obviously the shape depends on what position baby is in!

I had a few BH with my first pg, but am having loads more ( just as you describe) with my second!

sorry I meant with baby's bum poking out to one side. So, the lopsided sudden rock hard bump is probably a BH?

Yep, I reckon it is! I had those all the time with dd, just as you describe.
