Hi thought I would get peoples advice on this as its now started to bug me........

Basicly im 35 weeks pregnant, I have been suffering from severe spd since about 19 weeks and i am on the highest painkillers now you can be given in pregnancy, (been through all different levels of pain medication- highly addictative that effect me and the baby) and i use crutches and still i am in alot of pain.

for the last 6 weeks my gp (i have a few and all of them have said this) that I should be induced at 37 weeks due to the level of pain im in, and the fact that they cant do anymore, physio cant do any more, the GP concured with an ob registrar who said 37 weeks also and they asked me to speak with my midwife.

About 5 weeks ago i spoke to my midwife about what everyone had said and she agreed and booked an appointment with the ob consultant. when i went to the ob consultant a couple of weeks ago she was very nice, extremently sympathetic and said that usual process was 38 weeksbut due to the amount of pain, size of baby, level of medication etc she was happy to go with what everyone else had said and I asked her about the process which was -- 37 week induction , sweep a week before , 1 attemp at induction then 24 hour break and then second attemp but they wouldnt allo me to go over 37 weeks.......

I then went to my midwife a few days ago who put my sweep of until im 37 half weeks, and said that the consultant had put on her notes inducement between 37-38 weeks , and then proceded to say that they would try induction and if it didnt would I would be sent home for 2-3 days but started telling me it could be a very long process.

but then speaking to my gp yesterday who all seem to think i only have to wait till 37 weeks
I didnt want to be rude and say anything at the time but now thinking about it i querying whether i should call her up on monday and question why its all changed and ask for it to be as agreed

what do you think?

I dont think any midwife is allowed to do a sweep before 37 weeks as that would be pre-term.The appointment you have is probably the closest availiable she has to 37 weeks. The obstetrician should have made you a further appointment to see a doctor to do the sweep if they wanted you to have it before 37 weeks. Im sorry you are having such a hard time, it sounds like things are very difficult for you.
