I had D&V last week and ended up calling labour ward as I was having lots of Braxton Hicks, they said being it was probably due to the bug as being dehydrated could make the uterus irritable and also the diarrhoea itself can cause irritation.

Once the D&V stopped, the braxton hicks stopped as well and I've only had a couple since. Urine infections can also cause an irritable uterus, so it may be worth getting checked out for that as well.

Hope you feel better soon. Did they say what to do next? I guess you need to get back in touch with them if you're still having symptoms, but for now I would try and drink lots so you're not dehydrated and see if that helps.

I had iu with my first, I started off with low lying placenta and when it moved up it caused a tear, the blood from which trickled into my uterus and periodically caused it to contract. I had pre term labour at 24,27,31,33+5 weeks. A huge haemorrhage at 38wk and dd the following day. I found relaxing made it better but if I got too active it kicked things off. So my advice would be to rest, but if they form a pattern ie 3 in 10 mins call labour wRd.
