can you still feel the baby moving when you're having contractions?

I've been having some quite strong Braxton Hicks contractions this afternoon (I'm 35 +4), but in between times I can sometimes still feel the baby wriggling around. Got me thinking, can you feel the baby moving in between 'real' contractions when you're in labour, or does it stop moving as it's preparing to be born?

yes, you should be able to feel baby moving up until the moment they pop ou! And sometimes you get 'phantom movements' for a while afterwards.

you will be able to feel the baby between contractions but tbh, it will probably be the last thing on your mind when they really get going!

I can't remember if you actually feel movements when contracting, but you do feel them move between contractions.

I also felt ds's shoulders rotate when his head was already out - that was an odd feeling!

ds1 literally wrestled his way through the entire labour, contractions included. even the midwives were quite appalled by the gymnastics and asked in hush tones whether that was quite normal for this baby.

and backed off looking pale when i assured them it was.

oh yes. you can feel movements during contractions. particularly if the little darling objects to being squeezed. Grin

i suspect it didn't help that he was back to back tbh. it certainly didn't help get him out, anyway.

Yes, during and in between. Everytime I had a contraction DS would begin rhythmically kicking until it had passed an then in between he kept rolling over - he was moving so much that they couldn't get a proper trace of his heart rate with the Doppler because he kept moving away from it.
