just wondering when other mums nesting instinct kicked in.
Am 32 weeks, and busy tidying, rearranging, cleaning etc, but don't remember it kicking in quite so early with other pg's

Almost instantly! I am a very serious nester and usually begin somewhere in second trimester - by 30 weeks am going insane and having to restrain myself from buying cleaning products as we already have a house full of them! Last week (am 38 wks now) was taking things out of the dishwasher just so I could wash them up in the sink Grin
Enjoy the nesting OP! x

I'm only 12 weeks and am DESPERATE to get this bloody nursery sorted!! Haha!

Leilababyno1 · 15/04/2011 13:10

No nesting urge yet and I am 38 wks! Just a laying on the sofa, eating chocolate biscuits urge....Grin

OMG i am 21 weeks and my nesting has been around for a good few weeks! I am annoying myself with it!!! I can't stop nippicking at everything and what needs to be changed in the house etc...my husband thinks i'm bored and just likes to find ways to spend money i'm sure!x

vj32 · 15/04/2011 15:05

Mine comes and goes... basically I get really excited about doing a job, end up doing too much and tiring myself out and then having to spend the rest of the day on the sofa doing nothing. Although the last few days I've been too tired to do much of anything... and still about 4 weeks left.

helens82 · 15/04/2011 16:55

Does nesting count if you're 38 weeks and sit on the sofa getting the husband to do all the hoovering?!

lilly13 · 15/04/2011 16:57

yes, 36 weeks and been cleaning cleaning cleaning...

nannyl · 15/04/2011 17:01

Thanx ladies, was beginning to think I was perhaps developing an OCD, don't remember it kicking in quite so soon with other pg's.
Littlemum not sure I'm enjoying the nesting, would much rather be like leilababy n eating biccys!
And can totally relate to what your saying woopwoop, have thrown out other dc's bedroom furniture n bought new, coz it didn't look clean n tidy enough, dh wasn't to happy. Lol. N even more unhappy at me making him repaint the whole house,
N yes lily I'm sure it does count as nesting, at least it better had otherwise I'd better start doing the painting lol,
Although not sure why I'm bothering, coz by the time I've come home from the hosp am sure it won't look like I even bothered doing it to start with.
That reminds me must get a babysitter who has an OCD so it stays tidy :)

I was going to post something about this today. I'm 33 weeks with DC3 and am cleaning like I've never done before. DC1 I was too busy finishing the decorating to nest, DC2 I just didn't have the urge at all. This is completely alien to me. I'm a slattern normally but today I've cleaned out about 3 drawers, 2 cupboards and the fridge. That's on top of the "normal" cleaning all the bathrooms, kitchen etc. This is all while looking after DS and DD. I am seriously worried what I'll get up to if DH takes the DCs out this weekend.

DD loves it though as she adores cleaning! Smile

I have to restrain myself! Only 13+6 and can't wait to start buying baby stuff - not so much cleaning ;)

Already thinking about how to organize the house and weirdly excited at the prospect of getting the floors sanded (thankfully, we'll be away and won't have to bear the mess ;)

I told DH that in a few weeks we're scheduling a baby weekend - i.e. spending hours in JL looking at prams and baby clothes, poor thing obliged ;)
