Find me some OVER bump maternity jeans!

I've tried several styles, and general result is - under bump jeans and me are a BAD combination - they fall down, and/or give me a builder's bum.

So... I'm now asking you lot! Preferably buyable onlineable... jeans that go over the whole bump (mothercare ones seem to cover half the bump and are bloody uncomfortable).

Help

George at Asda £10. Bought some last week (i ain't got a bump yet but thought would try em). Very flattering.

I hate those under bump ones. When I was expecting my last 2.. Its ok if you are in your 20's and having first baby and your bump is beautiful..but I am non of those!!

flamesparrow · 02/11/2005 10:56

No maternity george near me

I actually have quite a nice bump this time round (not too sure how, I have no stomach muscles... I think the fruit cravings have helped my figure a lot)... they just feel bloody uncomfortable.

In an ideal world I'd spend all my time in my pjs

I have 3 pairs, one from Primark - they are non maternity but fit over my bump (7 months and still wearing them.) They are 3/4 turn ups.
The others from Hennes and they are paleish denim with little diamond studs over pocket on one bum cheek. The others are from additions online (I think) and are very dark denim and bought as turn ups but can be worn turned down.

ThomCat · 02/11/2005 11:05

Oh and I have on black jeans today, over the bump, from Hennes.

flame - I have a pair from Mothercare that are very much over the bump - your lovely bump would be perfect in them! Unfortunately I can't see them on line, but the code from the label inside is 7447 141, so maybe if you gave them a call they'd be able to locate a pair for you? I only bought them a couple of months ago so assume they must be current stock.

I can photograph me in them (will stuff a pillow down them too for demo purposes as your bump is bigger than mine!!) this afternoon and send it to you if you like.

I might still have some, will try and find them and post back on here later on this evening! Not promising that i still have them though!!!

Next Directory have a Boot Cut Jean with low waist styling and a jersey panel above that. They do them in different lengths and different colours. Codes are Indigo 945725x36, Dirty Tint 956474x36 and Blue/Black 948872x36. Don't think any of their stores stock the maternity stuff. I'm going through the process of finding some too.

Next ones are under the bump - I tried all the styles they had and they fell down on me too. Also they were really baggy on the thighs.

i am wearing over the bump jeans from H&M ( I am 37 weeks preg ). Very comfortable. Bought about 8 weeks ago i think. They also have great black ones. Only thing is that the elasticated panel comes down quite low so you have to wear longish tops. i think it woudl be less noticable on the black denims.

dudleycat · 02/11/2005 13:06

ive got some over bump ones from mamas and papas...were expensive (£40 i think) but im like you the under bump ones never seem to stay up. These are proper Simon Cowell jobs....are v. comfy and a nice dark denim, i wear them all the time so figure worth the extra expense. For what its worth i also find that the jersey panel ones head south too.

From Here to Maternity do some. A bit pricey though at £55:

Dorothy Perkins had them and dont think they were too expensive but not sure if they are online or not?

aloha · 02/11/2005 14:05

What size are you? I have some old ones that are madly, madly comfortable - a roomy size 12. Mothercare, but they certainly go over your bump. Yours for postage.

bottersnike · 02/11/2005 14:21

I've just got my over the bump jeans from JoJoMamanBebe - I think they were £35.00. Very comfortable, they just have stretchy elastic bits at the side, and I love them.

Superblastofflips · 02/11/2005 14:23

i bought mine from George and Mothercare as they go right over the bump

flamesparrow · 02/11/2005 14:57
