What are the chances of me getting a scan?

Hello again!

I have my first meeting with the midwife on Tuesday. I will be 6 weeks and 5 days.

Do you think there is any chance of me getting an early scan or would they not do that? This is my first pregnancy but I'm SO desperate for a scan!! Mainly because I want to know everything is okay so I can tell people! I have three parties in the next 6 weeks and I want to tell people before they guess!

No chance. Early scans are rightly for those who have a medical need for them. Not just people who fancy a look. At 6 weeks, I would also not be tellign too many people

I doubt it, they only scan you early if there is a problem.

Tell people, a scan makes no difference to whether things are OK, you could go for the scan then things go wrong 2 days later, it doesn't confirm everything will be ok!

The only way is for you to go private and pay for one, no chance on the NHS without any medical problems..

Dont worry, the next 5 weeks will go quick ...

You can pay for a scan privately though and you can do that whenever you like. I haven't had a private one, but I think they are about £150 a pop.
