7 weeks pregnant and bleeding

I am 7 weeks to the day and have been having a dark brown discharge all day. Have seen GP who's booked a scan for tomorrow but it feels a long way away.

This is my second pregnancy and I have not been as sick as I was the first time round but have been feeling sick all day, may be through worry?

Has anyone had this and their pregnancy continue? The dr didn't give much away but said it was good it wasn't fresh blood.

Thanks in advance x

Didn't want you to go unanswered. Please try not to worry. I had a huge red bleed at about 5 weeks and a brown one, very much like you describe at 8 or 9 weeks. Two of the worst moments of my life but all was fine and I am now 19+4.

Would love to say you'll stop worrying, you won't Grin Apparently not for the next 18 or 19 years!

Ive heard lots of stories of women bleeding all the way through pregnancy and everything being fine.

Dark brown means its old blood, maybe implantation bleeding?

Goodluck for tomorrow.

My daughter had a big bleed at 7 weeks followed by on and off brown bleeding until 12 weeks......she is now 32 weeks, hope all goes well for you, apparently it is quite common.

I had a big red bleed at 7weeks with DD then spotting for at least 3 days after- the doc seemed sure I had mc'd so was sent for early scan- all was fine! (and have learnt since that it's incredibly common.) hth x

Thanks everyone it has been a worrying time but am off to the hospital soon so hopefully we'll know more about what's going on. Yesterday was pretty pants as found out my Grandma probably has breast cancer as well, I was very pleased when it was bed time.

Have been told old blood is better, am keeping everything crossed.

Thanks so much again x

:))))

Yay! I had brown bleeding all through my first trimester with ds3. He is fine!
This time I had a massive bleed at 7 weeks. Turned out that I had been carrying twins but lost one. The other one has managed to hang in there, even though I have had a lot of brown blood since.

Once you see a HB there is at least an 80% chance that the pg will all go fine.

donotunderstand · 15/04/2011 19:12

Thanks everyone! Chipmonkey that's great about the 80% chance the pregnancy will be fine, has really given me hope. How many weeks are you now? Sorry you lost one of the twins.

Monkeybump it is a huge relief, I cried when I saw the scan!

Thanks again for all your support and best wishes Smile

my first weeks i bled, its implantation bleeding where the egg is implating itsself, its quiet common, and your not always sick that doesnt mean much :) you should be ok as its not alot and its discharge, the brown coould be old blood cause of the period you would of missed sounds pretty normal x
