Am I pregnant??

My husband and I have been trying for a baby since January, however in the last few months this has been a more half hearted attempt.
My usual cycly has been a bit all over the place, but for the past 5 months it has varied between 24 and 26 days. I am now entering my 28th day and no sign yet.....
I have been having period type pains and cramps for the last 5 days - but no period has happened, My boobs seem swollen and quite achy, and I am constantly tired, but am not sleeping through the night. Today a headache has started which i cant seem to shift.

I have also been a little bogged under at work so this could account for the lateness. I have done a cheap supermarket pregnancy test today (in teh afternoon) which resulted in a faint line in the positive window....so now I am not so sure if I am or not. Any advice???

Any line is a positive, even if it's faint. Looks like you're preggers!

Princesskittykins · 13/04/2011 14:48

I was kind of putting it down to my work stress and looming work deadlines.....especially as we hadnt really been trying that hard lately.

Yep! Congratulations:)

Mine showed a faint line too - my partner asked me to do another a few days later, which I did (it was a bit darker). Congratulations! x

Ernie1 · 13/04/2011 20:26

Can you maybe do a digital test? That way you'll know for sure if its positive or not?

alicethehorse · 13/04/2011 20:29

Congratulation Grin Grin Grin

Tell your DH about the test and go get another one to be sure!

alicethehorse · 13/04/2011 20:32

I should say though I only said ""go get another one to be sure!" for your own peace of mind. Like the other say, a faint positive is still a positive Smile

Princesskittykins · 14/04/2011 16:17

I mentioned it to the DH last night, he is edging on the side of caution really as I have been mega stressed. I work for a diagnostic compnay that makes test kits for other things so am well aware of the limitations of the tests. I have decided to leave it till after the weekend then get one of those digital tests and re-test (I have a tight work deadline due on Monday - so once that is out of the way i will divert my full attention). I dont think the DH wants to get too excited just in case...

Hey congrats! Exactly the same happened to me today- had a really faint line, so went out and bought a clear blue digital and it came out with 'pregnant' 1-2 weeks :) good on you if you can hold out til mon! I was aiming to wait until tomorrow but couldn't do it! I do think the digital tests are good though because they are so cut and dry. Good luck with it! Let us know how you get on.

jenga079 · 14/04/2011 17:19

A line is a line :-)

Congratulations x

Purplebuns · 14/04/2011 22:01

What if a line is so faint you can only see it in certain light? So faint you wonder if it is in fact imaginary? Confused

LyraBelaqua · 14/04/2011 22:09

I work in the local family planning clinic and do the PTs for all the patients. Any line is a line no matter how faint or how much you have to strain to see it. It will get darker as time goes by. Also each time I've been preggers its started out with really faint lines :) congrats xx

jenga079 · 14/04/2011 22:40

With mine you had to tilt it slightly to see it, but it was definitely a line!

Princesskittykins · 18/04/2011 09:16

so I couldnt hold out and ended up testing on Saturday using a clearblue visual and then a clearblue digital test (i thought i would do 2 just to be on the safe side!) and it turns out I am definately pregnants and about 3 weeks gone! We are so happy :)

My DH only ever really got it when I showed him a digi test which spells it out. A tenner well invested!

Congratulations!

Beware - Clearblue digi "overcooked" me by about a week.

Congratulations! Grin Grin Grin

apricotears · 23/04/2011 21:22

Congratulations on such wonderful news! I really do think some things just happen when you stop concentrating on them so much! My DH and I conceived as soon as I stopped obsessing about it and just let whatever was going to happen- happen!

Seems it worked in your case too Smile
