I'm not normally prone to worry but not feeling movement

I really am not normally a worrier. But I am 18 weeks pregnant with my second & not feeling movement. Is that still normal? I think I felt movement around 17/18 weeks with my first. We did hear the heartbeat at the 16w appointment. Scan isn't booked till May.

Could be an anterior placenta ? I've got one and movement is really sporadic. He's got a nice cushion in there so I don't always feel much, even at 25w. You'll find out at the 20w scan so try not to worry until then.

I think it's normal. I started to feel movement very early with my dd (at 15-16 weeks). Then one day at 18 weeks I became anxious after not feeling anything for a few hours, and phoned the mw who kept telling me it wasn't usual to feel the baby at 18 weeks. It was a pointless thing to keep repeating as I'd already been feeling movement for a while, but the point is, she didn't think it was anything to worry about, and I know lots of people who haven't felt much of anything until well after 20 weeks, even without anterior placenta. Also, maybe it takes a little longer to feel the second if everything is a little stretched from first time round - I have no idea if there's any scientific basis for this, but it's just a thought.

Are you getting any of those tiny little bubbly feelings very low down - a bit like wind, but in slightly the wrong place? That was how it started with dd at 15 weeks or so.

I'd say if you are at all worried go in and have a check for peace of mind. I was a regular! Am sure they didn't mind.

I didn't feel movement till well past 20 weeks with my first baby, so I wouldn't worry too much - but as WowOOO says, if you are worried do go and get checked.
