quick query: are prawn dumplings ok to eat in pregnancy?

....apart from the fact that they are not very healthy. Any egg in them would be cooked, wouldn't it? and the prawn should be pretty well cooked too - yes? (from local Chinese takeaway btw not from supermarket)

That's not reassuring . I'm certainly being more relaxed than in my first pregnancy but still paranoid. Any doctors out there to certify that they cooked these dumplings (moonlighting in my local Chinese) and are sure they are ok?

Aren't most prawns sold cooked anyway? The advice I had was as long as they're served hot (ie re-heated thoroughly)they are ok.

yes they will be fine

(prawns are caught, quick frozen, defrosted, cooked, refrozen - had fond memories of my visits to Icelandic prawn factories!!)

I think anything piping hot is fine (including seafood) cos bugs are killed, be much more careful with buffet type food and stuff served cold.(dp is a chef and really anal about food hygiene)
