Wow, Joy on one born every minute annoyed the hell out of me last week... and she's doing it again already!

Can't understand anyone being so negative about giving birth! Her poor husband!

Joyless!

Oh by the end I quite liked her!! Remember she had been there for days and days with nothing happening - there was a follow up bit at Christmas I think and she was really funny, said how miserable she'd come across - they obviously got on very well as a couple and they both clearly adore their baby!!

lolajane2009 · 11/04/2011 21:11

lol might be better than last week. I howled with laughter through last weeks at the teenager

Staceroo · 11/04/2011 21:11

Oooh but she was just so miserable! Last week saying how they were only having a baby because he said she was getting old! She really sounded like she didn't care!

And then she was complaining about noone watering her flowers, and how upset she was, because it would be so noce to come home and have something pretty to look at! Erm... hello... ehat about your baby!!! Confused

Oh she has me in stitches! I loved the bit when Fabio had the guts to tell her that Thai names sound stupid and she blamed him for bringing on a contraction, haha!

Dynababy · 11/04/2011 21:52

Its an IVF baby so she definatley wants it..a lot! I watched the same catch up thing where she was actually lovely just a grumpy cow in these ones cos she's been there in on off labout for 4 days .. poor thing ..and poor Fabio taking the flak!

buttonmoon78 · 12/04/2011 08:23

I too think she deserved to be grumpy. After all, she was trying to avoid a major op and go for vd. I think he's hilarious too mind you. After the vaginal exam when she kept saying 'her whole hand...!' and he kept going 'mm'. I nearly wet myself.

Let's face it, labour makes the most rational of us grumpy and my longest so far has been 22.5 hours.

I also wet myself when Fabio was getting the things out of the bag for the baby to wear and she kept saying 'I've ironed those, don't mess with them'.

But however grumpy (deserved or not) the look on his face and the heartbreaking tears on hers following delivery showed what a truly wanted baby that was.

natwebb79 · 12/04/2011 08:57

I thought the update at the end was lovely when they showed them at home with their gorgeous baby. They were both obviously besotted. Aaaahhhh :-)

trixie123 · 12/04/2011 09:17

I had a not dissimilar experience to her with DS1 and am in full sympathy with her. Its utterly crap being on the ward hearing women come and go with their babies and being told you are urgent enough to need inducing and monitoring but not so urgent that they are actually going to do anything much, being forgotten about re meals and ultimately, after all that, having a CS anyway. I know that compared to the whole getting a healthy baby thing it seems pretty trivial but when you are going through it, its is pretty impossible to keep that perspective. Am doing everything I cam this time round to ensure I do not have a repeat performance.

buttonmoon78 · 12/04/2011 09:32

Exactly - her perspective could be slightly skewed anyway as they've spent so long trying for this baby, then as you say, Trixie to be urgent yet not urgent, trying to have a vd and ending up with a section anyway. You get a kind of bubble or tunnel vision on the mat ward, I've found.

Whilst laughing uproariously at her, I also found her a character requiring a lot of sympathy.

Staceroo · 12/04/2011 12:43

I admit she did show how much she loved the baby at the end, but even still, she did have the worst attitude ever!

I know I can't really speak for anyone going through any labour let alone a stressful one like that, only being pg with my first now, but I can't understand someone having that kind of attitude and not once saying anything about the baby she was going to have at the end of it!?

Though I won't deny there was probably some dodgy editing that took place, because seeing her at the end, she was a completely different person!

She's diabetic too and it looked like her blood sugar levels might have been affected by the forgotten dinner etc. My boyfriend's mum is diabetic and when her blood sugar is all over the place she's a difficult person to be around. All in all, I found her very entertaining, haha! I have Italian friends and Thai friends and I have to say that my male Italian friends are all as laid back as Fabio and my Thai friends are as highly strung as Joy in stressful situations so it made me giggle even more :-)
