Hello,
I'm 9 weeks today and I seem to be loosing weight. not a huge amount but still enough that I'm a bit confused.
My waist has grown considerably, so that I'm at least a dress size up, and I've eating 6 snacks/small meals each day.. so I just can't understand where the weight is going.

Well I can understand but I just wanted to check.. am I meant to be eating even more? I'm nausous but not actually being sick so I'm not loosing it that way!

thanks
katy

I lost weight for the first 3 months of my pregnancy (a stone in total) but then I was horribly nauseous for almost all of the three months and also ate little and often. I quickly made up for it for the next 6 months Grin. On the numerous weight loss places I currently read (I still haven't lost the baby weight after nearly 2 yrs Shock), they do suggest that eating little and often can aid weight loss!!
I shouldn't worry too much about it, but if you are worried ask your MW about it Smile.

I wouldnt worry too much to be honest, especially if you were overweight or normal weight when you conceived. Upto 12 weeks I gained 200grams and baby is fine. lots of peole lose or gain nothing and babies are fine.

I wouldn't worry. I lost some because of sickness, but have totally changed body size, going up a size in trousers, despite still weighing less than before getting pregnant (am 15 weeks).

Think of all that your body is having to do at the moment - it's not surprising that more calories are getting burnt!

Also, not sure if this applies to you, but several mnetters have remarked that cutting out alcohol has reduced their calorie intake, thus leading to natural weight loss.
