39+2 - stitch-like pain under ribs

As title says I have a stitch like pain under my ribs and it hurts to breathe deeply. Do I worry?

Baby still seems to be moving, occasional Braxton-Hicks which make no difference to the stitch pain and I have no lower back/underbump/period type pain so it's unlikely to be labour (much as I wish it were).

I don't think it's indigestion/reflux//trapped wind. In fact it feels a bit like the time I cracked a rib but less shooting pain, more constant but not an ache...

Pain in your upper abdomen, just below the ribs, is can be one of the symptoms of pre-eclampsia.
I know somebody who had it without any swelling, so phone your GP or midwife urgently and get yourself checked out today for protein in the urine and blood pressure - better safe than sorry.

Good luck and best wishes for a safe delivery in the near future.

Please post again to say you are OK too!

Well I called the MW who seemed spectacularly unconcerned and said it was probably nothing to worry about but if I was still worried in a few hours and it hasn't gone to go and get checked. In the meantime it might be muscular so I'll try a warm bath. I don't have any other signs of pre-eclampsia as far as I can tell, although obviously I can't monitor my own BP.

It's right under my ribs and I can't think of anything that could be causing it. I've definitely not been running!

Will see if it subsides and if not I'll get checked out.

I would second what Greenwing said Smile
