Best Maternity Skinny Jeans!

sarahseager · 11/04/2011 14:12

I'm finally going shopping on Saturday determined to get some maternity jeans at last - I have been holding off as long as possible and managing with a hair bobble looped through my jeans! :o)

I just wanted to get some opinions on the best maternity jeans out there, particularly skinny ones, in terms of quality and value. I know a lot of them tend to be quite expensive and I don't really know where to start in terms of which brand is best so if you could let me know your opinions it would be much appreciated.

Thanks x

I haven't a clue I'm afraid. I just wanted to let you know how green with envy I am that you're even comtemplating skinny jeans!! I'm 35 weeks, and whopping. The only skinny thing about me is my little toe!

Good luck though Grin [said through only mildly gritted teeth (grin)]

Leilababyno1 · 11/04/2011 14:17

H&M- mine were around £30 I think...

Still fitting in them at 37 wks, by the skin of my teeth...Grin

wobblyweeble82 · 11/04/2011 14:19

Don't you start Leila!!!!!!!! Not fair!!!!!

Milkybrew · 11/04/2011 14:23

Second the h&m ones! I got mine in the sale, were only 15 quid! They have lasted brilliantly and it's only past week or so I've found them a bit tight! In fact all my h&m bits have lasted well and were great value!

Leilababyno1 · 11/04/2011 14:24

Sorry wobblyweeble82...Blush- I did say 'by the skin of my teeth' though??!!

They are particulary stretchy...Wink

TBH I probably look like a bloated banana in them, BUT i am not giving in!Grin

sarahseager · 11/04/2011 14:26

Thanks guys, I am just over 17 weeks so am hopeful that these will last me a while - hmmm! :)

I do like the look of the h&m ones and all their maternity stuff seems really good value compared to other high street shops.

I got mine from Top Shop - they are great!

wobblyweeble82 · 11/04/2011 14:37

H&M maternity stuff IS fab, Sarah. I find it to the only thing that doesn't make me feel, well, mumsy IYSWIM. And I suppose, at 17 weeks, you're ALLOWED skinny jeans Envy

And I'm totalling digging the bloated banana look Leila. I, personally, am favouring the chequered watermelon look today. Although my legs are the exact shape and texture of mishapen carrots. It's a winning combo...

I personally LOVE the chequered watermelon look- I think I was sporting this look yesterday with a pair of Primark leggins..Grin!!

wobblyweeble82 · 11/04/2011 14:45

Oh well now you're just showing off Leila. My legging's are from Sainsbury's. And they have a bleach splash on the back of them. But I like how you've embraced the chequered watermelon look. And am delighted you haven't bastardised with your soddin' skinny jeans.

wobblyweeble82 · 11/04/2011 14:45

it

Leilababyno1 · 11/04/2011 14:55

No. the skinny jeans only come out on brave days....days when I'm brave enough to flaunt my bloated banana look.

Sorry sarahseager, just realised that we have somehow taken over your thread with 'heavily pregnant' natter...Grin! Please ignore..Smile

sarahseager · 11/04/2011 14:56

Ha ha no worries! I'm totally going to be a banana or watermelon by the time I get there! :)

Yep, apologies Sarah Grin

I've been wearing the Baxter skinnies from Topshop and think that they're rubbish. They're under the bump jeans and I spend my whole life hoicking them up - they fall down all the time and look rubbish round the bum.

I've only got a couple of weeks to go now, otherwise I'd seriously be looking for another pair or considering buying the Topshop jeans again in a smaller size than usual...

natmay27 · 11/04/2011 17:11

starshaped your right about baxter topshop ones, fit around bump is ok but they are way too loose on the leg. i am 34 wks and sil wearing pre-preg jeans just with a hairband around the button and button hole for more give!!

LittleMilla · 11/04/2011 18:09

I've had a dark blue pair from Gap that have seen me through - 38 weeks now and still able to get in them (I have expanded EVERYWHERE). As with all Gap jeans, they will stretch...but TBH, I just washed them more when I first got them. And now I just appreciate the give. Oh, and I did buy them in a size smaller than my non-pg size. Which sounds showy-offy, but it's because of the stretch factor. Not because I am some super slim-Jim.

Got some others from Topshop that have been OK. But they aren't cotton (not sure what they're made of) and things get a bit, ahem, sweaty quite quickly.

Not skinny ones...but I bought some Seven For All Mankind black wideleg jeans early on in my pg. In fairness, I got them from a dress exchange shop for £45, but they're flipping amazing. If you can afford it, I'd consider investing in a decent pair of jeans. As time goes on, you'll appreciate having something that is a) comfortable and b) flattering.

argylesocks · 11/04/2011 18:49

I second milla about Gap. I have some dark skinny ones and they're so comfortable. Theydont fall down and have a good bit of stretch. They were £35 but I wear them like every other day so well worth it. I tried on topshop ones and thought they were horrible but mostly because they seemed so damn tiny!

Firawla · 11/04/2011 19:29

I got some from debenhams, i thought the price was v good (im thinking about 20 quid but cant remember exactly), happy with the quality so far

BizzeeBee · 11/04/2011 19:53

A third vote for the gap blue skinnies. They are generously sized so if you want super skinny try a size smaller. Mine are fitting me nicely still at 35 weeks, and fall down a little bit but not too much that they look awful.

theonlyhb2 · 11/04/2011 20:21

Topshop Leigh.......I may never go back to the normal sort, they are so incredibly comfy!

vallinnapod · 11/04/2011 20:56

Seraphine are brilliant IMO. I have bootcut, skinny and some jeggings Blush

cara2244 · 11/04/2011 21:13

Topshop Baxter are my favourites. Comfy, stay up and good after the baby is born. Have bought a pair both pregnancies. They sell for good money 2nd hand on Ebay too.
