TMI - jelly-like discharge in early pregnancy

Hello everyone,

More questions from newly pregnant (9+2) paranoid lady. It's my first pregnancy and feel quite nervous all round.. So hope someone here on MN will have some experience.

Today and yesterday I have had some thick, jelly like discharge. Today about the size of a 10 p coin. It's clear, no smell, so don't think it's an infection, but it's different (not runny) to my normal discharge. Yesterday it was more EWCM. Argh... is it bad news? Is it my mucus plug going or something horrid?

I am seeing my gynae tonight anyway, for a scan and some test results, so will ask, but if anyone has any info beforehand it would be v v welcome as I am freaking out

Welcome to the wonderful world of weird discharge in pregnancy!

It's completely normal for it to range from wet, runny, thick,
clear, creamy, sticky, and any other kind you'd care to describe. So long as it doesn't itch, smell, or have blood in it then it's fine. Mine changes from day to day and the only thing that stays the same is that there's lots of it.

The mucous plug is usually coloured and looks more like snot then discharge - lovely, right? Mine was an orangey colour and came away over the space of a few days. It would be highly unlikely for it to be your plug.

The joy of hormones and the lovely things they do! :)

Thanks CBear6 it's the sort of question you can only ask online :)

I in fact gave in and spoke to my gynae (after just 15 minutes of worrying) and she said it's fine - as long as I have no pain/blood. I have read in a couple of places that the mucous plug sheds and regenerates continually during pregnancy... I hope all is well. Time will tell.

Clear jelly discharge at 6 weeks pregnant is this normal? Should I be concerned of miscarriage?
Thank you

@Mslv sounds normal to me! I had that for a few weeks. I also had spotting, but all worked out alright. Call your doctor if you have spotting.
