Too much weightgain at 25 weeks?

Hi all
I was a normal weight range before I got pregnant. I've put on 17 lbs at 25 weeks and a lot of the weight gain calculators seem to think this is way too much. I don't feel like I've put on too much weight other than in my belly which is obviously big. Does anyone know if I should be cutting back on what I'm eating or if this sounds ok and the calculators are being conservative.
How much weight did other people put on at this stage?
xx

I'd put on more than 20lbs at that stage - don't worry! I was also normal weight before pregnant, put on 2.5 stone total (at least!), and returned back to normal within a few months after birth without any crazy dieting or anything (rather the reverse - I ate like a pig). You're fine - eat what you need to eat.

Thanks a lot! That's what I wanted to hear. Might just avoid the scales from now on.

The slimmer you were before the more you'll put on

It is true in my experience that the slimmer you are the more you put on - I am overweight and did not put anything on at all and in fact started to lose weight at the end of the pregnancy - I am a stone lighter than when i got pregnant with my fourth and he is 8 months old. Do what you want within reason and walk away form the scales you are growing a whole new human inside you so cut yourself a break lady!!!

well I haven't weighed myself in a few days, but i'd put on a stone at the last check (I'm 25+4) and at the rate I'm putting on I'd say I'd be nearer 17lbs too by now. All the stats I've read say its totaly normal to have put on between 14 and 22lbs by now, so I'd say we're at the lower range. Don't worry!

As long as you feel good, then screw the scales.

You are perfectly normal. Are you on a Ante-natal group thread? I think by your dates you'd be welcome on the one I'm on (July). I did a spot check about 5 weeks ago and the amount varies from a few lbs (6 in my case, but I'm a fattie) up to nearly 2 stone (IIRC).

So please don't worry. It will go on. It will come off. Enjoy the freedom it offers for now!

hi, i put on 12 lbs by 25 weeks... pre-preg BMI 19, height 5'6... i would definitely say watch it, as the weight starts piling up way too quickly later... i am 35 weeks now and put on 25 lbs (way too much imho)... i've been eating healthy (but more than normal) and excercising 5+ times per week, and still it keeps creeping up...

Have no idea what I've put on, haven't stepped on the scales since the BFP, but fairly certain I've put on a fair bit as by booking app when the midwife weighed me my BMI had increased from 19-22 (so I reckon I'd put on about a stone by 12 weeks). As far as I'm concerned, if the MWs don't think I look too big at my checkups I don't care. Agree that if you were very slim pre-pg you'll need to put on more weight to build up your fat stores that probably didn't exist before.

26lbs at 27 weeks Blush - it was just as bad first time around only this time I started off fatter.

Sad am just trying not to think about it.
