Had my daughter in Singapore, had a section as she was breech, I had preeclampsia and I have had a history of Asherman?s Syndrome (a D&C post miscarriage at St Thomas) that was treated by same ob.gyn in Singapore.
He advised me to have a second one. I am leaning to having a planned section for this and other reasons.
I am 21 weeks and haven?t met with anyone to specifically discuss this but have mentioned it and discussed it with midwives and the consultants I?ve seen so far for blood pressure monitoring. No one has said I will have a problem with my choice, in fact the last doctor I saw said Asherman?s can raise the risk of rupture, bleeding and placental problems and that if it did it go wrong, it could go very wrong. That said, the risk is still lowish.
Anyway, just wondered if anyone knows the policy there and if I will have problems ? well, getting my way?
I am prepared to go private for the section, and indeed if I need it for medical reasons have insurance to cover it, though have no real reason to leave Kings as I?ve been impressed with the service so far. Might pay for a private room anyway for it if I can.
I am also open to vbac, although I have no special urge to give birth vaginally. So I will listen to then, my mind isn?t completely made up, but I will balk if I feel pressured for cost/political reasons.
