Braxton Hicks - when should I worry?

hi, I'm 26+4 at the moment and am having quite a lot of painless tightening at the moment. I've picked up a D&V bug so thought it was probably that irritating my uterus but I've had about 10 in the last 3hrs now.

Baby is moving well, I haven't had any unusual symptoms apart from the D&V, should I just sit tight and see if it settles down?

Cheers.

Hi SpannerPants, I would get in touch with your local out of hours service / hospital as 10 in 3hrs seems v.frequent. If nothing else they will be able to put your mind at ease.

I asked this question of midwife and she said 10 in one day would warrant a call to the delivery unit and visit to a&e that was for those not too painful ones too.

Not meant to panic you but I would call them!

The reason I asked as I have a bug which every time I had painful cramps ended in me with diarrhea (sorry tmi) but she thought was bug not Braxton hicks was v painful but similar to ibs which used to suffer with.

I rang labour ward and they were lovely, advised me to try to get some rest and see if they settled down. I've been able to keep water down since 2am and they've stopped now so I wonder if it was partially dehydration?
