Putting the cot up? when did you do it?

Am 35+1 and just got babies matress.

When did you set it all up?

36+3 and still not done it!!! Keep nagging hubby to get it down from the loft as my DC2 arrived at 38+1!!

We didn't! FIL put it up while we were in hospital (had DS at 38 weeks). Think DP was relieved he didn't have to do it!

After DS arrived he was 4 weeks early, and in a moses basket for a while so there was no rush.
With my first is was up when I packed my bag so around 37 weeks, but it didn't get used until she was over 8 weeks as she was in the moses basket.
This time, don't think I will bother again until after the arrival.

I've not got a moses basket so the cot needs to be up for when he gets here! :)

ds is 16 weeks and the cot is still in bits in the spare room

Is it a cot or a crib? A tiny baby might not like the massive expanse of a cot at first.
DD went in her Moses/in her pram/in our bed until 10 weeks.
We put the cot up at about 36 weeks - it didn't take long really. Kept the plastic on the mattress until she actually went into it though.

ok, maybe title should have been when did you set up cot/moses basket/crib/whatever the baby was going to sleep in?

When we had DS1 we had the cot up in the babies room all ready by about 35 weeks but this time round with DS2 the cot is still in the loft and havent even thought about getting it down yet (curently 31 weeks). Baby will be in a moses basket for first few weeks anyway so I am in no rush to get it all up and ready and think we will probably wait for the baby to arrive.
