Hi, I'm 30 weeks pregnant and according to pregnancy weight gain calculators have gained all the weight i shold have for the whole pregnanacy! I've gained 2 stone in total and and am 5'2" now 11 stone usually nine. I don;t think I have been eatng excessively and have been conscious to keep up some exercise. Just wondered how everyone else was doing weight wise?

I'm about the same as you. Am 5'7'' & usually weigh around 9-9.5st (don't weigh myself very often) but a couple of weeks ago (@36wks) I weighed a little under 11st.
I do yoga twice a week, & aqua-natal once a week - would like to do more but it's a struggle to find time!

harrygracejessica · 05/04/2011 03:29

I'm almost 35 weeks with twins and put on just under 2 stone so far which I'm happy with.

Put on 4 stone with my first and about 3 stone with the last twins.

lolajane2009 · 05/04/2011 08:35

almost 17 weeks and gained 2.2kg (between 4 and 5 pounds) over those weeks. No matter what I do it seems I can't gain.

FeralGirlCambs · 05/04/2011 08:57

23 weeks and gained 1.5 kg ('recommended' is about 8kg at this stage). I think as long as you feel healthy what is 'normal' varies so wildly from woman to woman that setting out guideline amounts is just another thing sent to stress us out. M/w was totally fine with my weight gain, but said she'd be equally happy if I'd gained a stone and half.

emmah194 · 05/04/2011 09:02

I'm 36+1 and have gained 25lbs so far, but have only gained 7lbs since I was 22 weeks

Boosaphena · 05/04/2011 09:17

I'm 13 weeks and have lost a stone. I lost 1.5 stone with my 2 previous pregnancies. Basically I wouldn't worry as long as your bump measurement is consistent. Your mw will soon tell you if there is a problem. You'll only be pregnant a handful of times so enjoy it. Of you gain a couple of lb too many it's really not the end of the world.
I have HG so don't get the chance to enjoy food :( so strongly advise that everyone else should!!

lolajane2009 · 05/04/2011 09:23

Yeah my bump is measuing fine and I feel huge. I think my main issue is that I am starting to look gaunt everywhere but where my bump is occuring.

FirstVix · 05/04/2011 09:25

My Midwife said that they don't weigh us because people's weights vary so much and it causes a lot of anxiety.

I've put on about 2 stone (36 weeks) but was about 8 1/2 at 5'7'' so was always 'small' before.

biglips · 05/04/2011 09:29

i gained 3 stones on both pgs, and lost 2 stones straight away after giving birth....it was all the blardy water esp the 2nd birth!!! Grin

hsmom · 05/04/2011 09:37

I have gained 35 lbs already at 34 weeks. I was just under 9st before and now am 11st 6lbs. I actually piled on loads in first trimester as I was eating to stave off sickness, then very little in second, and have gained another 7 or 8 lbs since about 26 weeks.
My baby is measuring very small for gestational age and I wanted to make sure it wasnt because I wasnt eating enough!
With my first baby I was 11st 2lbs on day of his birth (41+3), so I have already exceeded that with this one, and still some weeks to go :-)

GrumpyFish · 05/04/2011 09:43

I'm 37 weeks and have put on 2st 2lbs. I am fairly happy with this, as I put on almost 4 stone with my last pregnancy, plus have been told that baby is measuring v large and I have quite a lot of fluid (so am hoping that not too much of this weight is actually me!!). I'm 5ft 3 and have gone from 9st (which I would have liked to be 8 1/2 stone!) to just over 11 stone.

vallinnapod · 05/04/2011 10:28

Anyone else having weight go on in 'weird' places? Mine all seems in my thighs (hips too but expected this!) Put on 9.8lbs so far (clinging on to every last ounce as that 0.2 puts me up to 10st!) at 18+3. Still very active at the gym and eating well pretty much all the time (well, apart form the cheap crisps addiction..!) but my thighs have got ginormous (possibly a slight exaggeration). I still haven't really popped so will probably feel better about it all when I do but at the moment I feel a bit frustrated.

jimper · 05/04/2011 10:56

I am 30 weeks and have gained 5lbs so far....to be fair I had quite a bit to start with Blush

lilly13 · 05/04/2011 13:22

I am 35 weeks and put on 12kg. I am 5'6, pre-pregnancy weight 53kg (BMI 19)... I have been eating healthy, but more than normally, and been excercising 5-6 times per week.... Feel like a real whale Sad

mummysleepy · 05/04/2011 13:52

I am 32+6 and have put on 12kg so far. Seemed to be slow weight gain till this trimester and now putting on quite quickly.
I am eating fairly healthily and am on my feet all day chasing after my 2DCs so I don't really think there is much I can do about it!

I definitely put on more with DS2 though so I am not too worried really. According to one weight gain calculator I found I am 'allowed ' to put on up to 16kg so am hoping to creep in just below that!

JollySergeantJackrum · 05/04/2011 13:58

I'm 38+4. At booking in (8 weeks ish) I was 68kg or 10st 10lb. I'm now 82kg or 12st 8lb. I'm only 5'1 so pretty heavy, but I feel like weight has mainly gone on my boobs and bump. My bum and legs seem to be much the same size as they were before but my boobs have gone up 5 cup sizes. It's amazing I don't fall over.

Junebugjr · 05/04/2011 15:56

Am just over 33 weeks, and have put on about 1st 6lb, but I lost 16lb from suffering hyperemesis until 20 weeks. Since the hyperemesis has waned off, Ive been putting on weight very very quickly and only now its slowed down to a 1lb a week thank god. Im generally very vain, so cant wait to get back to normal! Grin

rrreow · 05/04/2011 18:34

I don't know because my scales broke! It wasn't me I swear!!

I had put on about 7kg when the scales last worked, which was around 30 weeks (I was 49kg pre-pregnancy). I'd like to know how much I've put on but in some way it's quite nice not knowing as that way I can't worry about it! I'll just be happy if I fit into my jeans again after birth eventually!

100years · 05/04/2011 18:42

Am nearly 19 weeks, and so far I am 2 stone lighter than my starting weight!!! Had bad sickness - not hyperemesis - just was really bad, could hardly eat stuff, and carry a lot of weight anyway so it's mostly a good thing. Started eating again about 3 weeks ago and so far I've not started gaining, even if my belly is growing.

theonlyhb2 · 05/04/2011 19:13

21 weeks and according to my notes, i started at 65 and last week was 70. That cant be right, my boobs are massive, let alone my middle

davidtennantsmistress · 05/04/2011 19:26

I started about 68-69 12 week scan said 71 I figure all the cheese/chicken mayo potatoes i've had means i'm at least 75 but hey ho don't worried. (i'm 5'2 btw)

LittleMilla · 05/04/2011 19:53

Boogiemumma I usually float between 8st 7lb and 9st, I am 5ft 1. I am now just over 11st and 37+2.

The last 4 weeks or so the weight gain has really slowed...so don't stress it. This is my first and I have had moments of massively going in to one about my weight gain, but soon realised I am being stupid. I have eaten OK, but allowed myself treats. Cadbury's cream eggs are flipping amazing!

vallinnapod I learnt at NCT that putting it on your bottom, thighs, hips etc is perfectly normally as you're simply laying down fat supplies to feed the baby.

vallinnapod · 05/04/2011 19:55

Arse (literally!) [Grin] - thanks LittleMilla

Snakeears · 05/04/2011 20:30

I'm 15 weeks and have lost 7.3lbs but BMI was nearly 26 to start so might be because I'm a bit of a chunker to start with. Doubt it will last! :-)

Clare123 · 05/04/2011 20:42

Gosh, everyone on here has gained hardly anything! I, on the hand, haves gained 9lbs at 14 weeks!!! I am eating far too much but it's the only thing that stops me from feeling sick.
