I'm now 31 weeks with DS2, DS1 was born normally after being head down 100% of the pregnancy i'm sure. DS1 was always kicking in the ribs (when he did move, v lazy baby in my tummy, now making up for it in toddler years!!) and wouldn't budge an inch when we had scans.

I've been wondering if this one was breech as all kicking type movement is down in my pelvis and i seem to constantly have an uncomfortable hard bump sticking into my ribs on my right hand side. At my last MW appointment (29 weeks - only 2nd post booking in appointment as apparently i'm low risk!!) the MW said DS was head up but not too worry as will probably turn....

He just doesn't seem to turn though, always lump under my ribs and kicking down in pelvis and worry that as next appointment will be with gp at 34 weeks who all due respect don't see so many pregnant women i might be leaving it a bit late to actually do anything about it!

So basically asking do you think it sounds as if this one is breech and what do you think i should be doing to turn him, half heartedly tried bum in the air on the sofa but not consistently as MW says will still be turning at this stage!!

You're only 31 weeks there's plenty of time yet for your baby to turn. DD1 was breech and stuck but DD2 was breech until about 35 weeks and then turned herself on night. Hope it works out for you.

Scrubbing the floors nightly I think Grin. Swimming. And this site suggests playing mp3 headphones at the bottom of the bump whilst inverted! One of mine turned in the bath.

Good luck :)

go on all fours, giving the baby lots of room to move. Its what we do in yoga to make the baby get in the best position, during two of my classes other womens babies have turned while doing yoga exercises.

If your 34 week antenatal is with the doc, your 36 week antenatal should be with your MW? If doc can't assess your DCs position, your MW will be able to at your next appointment. 36 weeks is still fine, if your baby is still breech (which is highly unlikely) you will then be referred for a scan and further investigation....They don't do anything about breech presentation til 37 weeks anyhow!

So not to worry til then! Smile
