Maternity dress for friend's wedding - HELP!

I have some mat clothes from dd1 and yesterday went shopping for some more. I'm really happy that I have all I need to see me through - work/casual/pjs/ but I have 2 weddings and am struggling to find a dress. I found one I liked but when I put it on it made me look huge.

I don't want to spend loads on a dress I'll wear twice, but I want to look nice. With my brother's wedding I wore a babydoll style dress which was fine and covered my bump beautifully. I was 5 1/2 months pg and it wasn't a mat dress. This time I'm having twins and my bump is huge so I don't think I'll get away with that.

I've seen some on the Isabella Oliver site but I can't try it on and so am nervous about spending so much and having the hassle of sending it back. I just don't know what to do. Please give me advice.

I think Isabella Oliver dresses are worth the money, and they are v good about returns. I bought one in my first pregnancy (I think it's called ruffle wrap or similar) and have had loads of use out of it. I've worn it to a few weddings, nights out etc but have also worn it with a polo neck under for work, and to much more casual things. 2 pregnancies and 3 years on and it still looks as good as new (I'm not being paid by them to say this!!). You quite often see Isabella Oliver clothes on ebay too if you'd consider that.

Next and very have got quite a few maxi dresses that are empire line so good place to start?

I certainly remember thinking that I wish they'd been around when I was pregnant!

If you fancy something gorgeous, try www.tiffany rose.co.uk I just bought a dress from there for my brothers's wedding, I will be 38 weeks then. As far a I coud work out, resell values on eBay are good, because the dress was £120, I think I will sell it afterwards and hopefully get enough back so that I will have only spent a reasonable amount (if any of that makes any sense!)

Hi,

Have just bought this and wish I had found it last year when pregnant, The belt gathers it in otherwise it is very babydoll in style.

I also ordered www.tiffanyrose.com/maternity/clothing/CLEMS.html this last year and it was utterly beautiful on. Couldn't go to the wedding in the end as was overseas and the docs banned me from flying. Was so gutted I had to send the dress back!

Also I loved this

Hope you find something you love

If you do go for the Isabella Oliver one, you can flog it on Ebay afterwards and get half your money back - they retain their value really well Smile

I actually found a couple of nice IO style dresses in Mothercare for weddings last summer for about £30-40. They have bought Blooming Marvelous, so their clothing range is getting much better.

I was going to suggest Dorothy Perkins too. I've been to quite a few of their bigger stores and they stock maternity. Of course, their online shop has a bigger range. Also, try Topshop.

Bhs is quite goo. Shock to admit it.

Try both the younger girls section which goes up to age 12 in party dresses
www.bhs.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/bhsstore/925075/235881

and the older girls section, which starts at 8, and has some prom style dresses
www.bhs.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/bhsstore/108147/226643

The sizing is a little weird.
