How much notice did you get for mw and scans?

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and just wondered how much notice everyone got.

I saw my dr on 25th march and he said 1st mw is between 8-12 weeks!

So I guess the 1st scan would be 12-16 weeks ish.

I've warned work but I'd still like some notice to arrange covet, really need to be patient!!!

Thanks, Emma

You are the one that will make these appointments so you get as much notice as you give yourself!
Have you called to make an appointment with the midwife yet? x

Ring or email the hospital. In my area, once I was referred (or self-referred) I had to wait for the hospital to schedule the appointments.

My MW appointment was at 10 weeks, and I got the appointment letter around 7.5 weeks I think, which covered both that and the scan.

i got 2 weeks notice on first scan then arranged next scan at 20 weeks and 16 week midwife the same day at the hospital and gp, also organised next consultant one then too.

As you can see, totally depends on the system in your area. I did have to chase up my first MW apt though.

You should get your first scan at 11-13 weeks so they can do the Down's tests if they do the combined scan/blood test - although again this varies a but between areas.

Thank you.

I was told by my gp that the hospital would contact me.

I had to book my midwife appt myself and then they booked the scan for me, I've just had my scan date through in the post and it's two weeks tomorrow. From what I've heard two weeks seems to be the norm. Second the recs to chase it up if you're concerned, I was giving them til Wed this week before I did the same :)
