Mucus plug? Or just late pregnancy discharge?

How to tell the difference? This has been happening for the last 9 days, since just before I turned 37 weeks. Looks like snot. Is it the mucus plug? Should I get excited? Anyone else experiencing similar?

Lost mine at 24 weeks!!! Was told it can happen and it will just rebuild itself. No sign of baby!!!! Might be a sign for you tho you normally lose it 2 weeks before the big day x

I know!!!! Maybe TMI but I fished it out the loo to show my OH to make sure I wasn't going mad he googled pregnancy snot and it came up. Rang the labour ward and explained and they said not to worry if it didn't have blood in it!!!! Just waiting now. I'm 30 wks babys head is sooo low down has been since 27 wks and bump seems to have dropped too. Getting sharp period pains at night too and first thing in the morning which lasts a few hours as a dull ache throughout the day :( x

My baby's head has been low for a long time too, since mid 20s. Bump never seemed to 'drop' either, as it was already there. All has been well though, and no rib-kicking. I hope it all goes well for you SavannahRose :)
