Hello looking for any feedback on this procedure. I have not had one before this is 2nd baby.

Want to know how succesful are they?
How long does it take to work if it does (is it 24 hours?)
How uncomfortable is it?
What do they do?
Does it help/hinder back to back babies?

Im just a little worried about it but at the same time Im quite tired and would like baby to come soon! Any feedback on this really. Have been on the internet but wanted to hear about people who had them.

Hmmm sweeps. You lie on your back, feet together (smear test style) the MW/consultant will insert 2 fingers and swipe them back and forth your cervix like a rainbow shape.

They are uncomfortable, but not painful. Mine was done at 1pm, I had a little spotting afterwards and 1pm the next day I was holding my ds!

They stimulate the hormone that softens the cervix to try and start labour (naturally unlike an induction where they use a gel to do it). As far as success rate....I had mine done 40+6 so I was exactly a week late when my ds was born, where as my friend had 3 sweeps and eventually was induced.

Are you taking raspberry leaf tea capsules/tea?

It is uncomfortable but it isn't the end of the world, my MW kept going until I said "that's enough" after about 5-6 minutes. The longer they're in there the better...Best of luck to you :)
