does anyone else have a really hairy belly?
it's not thick hair, it's still fine but my natural covering of hair has become longer and darker.
it used to be just down the line above and below my belly button but now it is taking over the sides too.

hopefully I wont grow a moustache or I will look like a fat hairy man!

Help! does anyone else have this?!
:o

Oh yes. In certain light I look like I've stolen a chimps pregnant bump :o Whatever you do though, don't shave or wax it because apparantly it doesn't disappear after the birth and it will grow back thicker and darker everytime you remove it. If you leave it, it does disappear. No idea if thats true but I ain't risking it!

Melly19MummyToBe · 01/04/2011 18:54

I'm 30+3 by the way :)

danio7 · 01/04/2011 19:01

oh my gosh I am so glad I am not alone, I noticed it around 15 weeks and a month later it has doubled!! do you know what you are having yet?
the old wives tale is that it's a boy because of the extra testosterone!

I defo won't shave it, eek!

do you think Victoria Beckham had to go through this?.. hmmm maybe not!

My DP spotted this yesterday "never mind the bump, where did all that hair come from?" I hadn't even noticed!

lolajane2009 · 01/04/2011 20:14

my body and head hair has gone mad everywhere except on my legs where I am getting bald patches....

Melly19MummyToBe · 01/04/2011 20:35

Yep, I'm having a girl :)

Victoria Beckham probably has hers lasered off. . . .

schmee · 01/04/2011 20:39

I had it last time (twin boys) but don't this time. I got it waxed last time (my beautician was pretty cool...) and it went after the boys were born. Wouldn't shave it though - eeeek!

Zipitydoda · 01/04/2011 21:24

I have it too. Fortunately blonde but enough for my DCs to notice. I told them it grew to keep the baby warm. I had it for all pregnancies and it went back to normal afterwards.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 01/04/2011 21:56

I have this too!!!!! I think I'm going to look odd when heavily pregnant (am 17 weeks now)
I hope it doesn't grow more but I'm happy that people are saying it goes away.
hmm I wonder about the boy thing, will keep it in mind!

AKMD · 01/04/2011 22:03

I had this. DH, a very hairy man, thought it was hilarious. I had a boy and thought the same about the testosterone.

AKMD · 01/04/2011 22:04

Oh, and it has gone away now although no doubt it will come back to keep DC2 warm :o

Karoleann · 02/04/2011 07:41

I only had it when pregnanct with my boys, this time its a girl and I'm much less hairy!

Zipitydoda · 02/04/2011 07:41

Mine were both boys too and I'm expecting another boy.

lolajane2009 · 02/04/2011 07:59

i wouldnt mind a boy so I am hoping the fact I am turning into a wolverine with an afro is a good sign.

apricotears · 02/04/2011 10:12

HAHA Lolajane2009, that's hilarious. I am so glad I have found this website, I too have noticed this, but have been too embarrassed to say anything to anyone. It's not dark hair, but I have definitely noticed more of it... like to the point where I was a bit embarrassed to show my bump (even to the doctor!) DH says I don't need to worry until I find myself plaiting my belly hair- cheeky sod!!!

Nice to know it is normal and probably isn't a permanent thing!!!

Zipitydoda · 02/04/2011 11:22

My DH said that it is so the baby can come out and climb up to the boobies easily!!!!! Baby monkey style.

danio7 · 03/04/2011 09:29

LOL zipitydoda I have images of an indiana jones style baby climbing up my belly fluff!

the wonders of babies!
note: do not look at the hair in direct sunlight, it looks far worse, no sunbathing for me this summer....

oh thank god you all have it too.....i am a bit hairy anyway and have waxed bits in the past before but havent done for AGES and my OH pointed out my hairy chest. I dont think I even care, one of my boobs looks like an udder now, a bit of hair is the least of my worries lol

G1nger · 03/04/2011 17:45

Me too. I'm developing a crab ladder... (I see there's no smiley face for "not fair, not fair, not fair")

lolajane2009 · 03/04/2011 17:47

sorry if i'm steering this away... but the worst thing is the facial hair... must not be a freak show....

apricotears · 03/04/2011 22:46

It truly is a beautiful thing isn't it Hmm HAHAHA!

wobblyweeble82 · 04/04/2011 07:58

My bump hair is ridiculous. Sure, it's not black and wirey, it's blonde and downy but half an inch long and it's kind of anti-gravity-fied. I take my top off and it's all just sticking outwards. DH says I look like a GM peach. Randomly though, my legs are less hairier than pre-pregnancy, and same with eyebrows, but DH says I've got some cracking downy sideburns coming in ... DD on the way so maybe it is a girl thing. 6 weeks to gooooo, I can get over it Grin
