Hello,

I posted awhile back about a sore labia Blush that no one could figure out what to with. I was fobbed off with this and that, consultant thought e45 was the way to go Hmm. it did nothing and gradually the pain and itching got worse. I went to the GP yesterday for something else and while I was there said "sorry to harp on about this but... still uncomfortable and now the creases of my legs are turning purple?"

"Ah" she said. "you have a really bad fungal infection. Tinea cruris also known as jock itch, jungle rot." lovely Hmm

So she gave me a massive tube of canestan anti fungal cream and said i really needed to get going on clearing it up. indeed- i've got less than a month to go!

She sort of vaguely reassured me the baby would be fine but i'm still concerned that I've had this for potentially 21 weeks and that it could somehow be harming baby. Hubby pointed out the mucus plug should be protecting little one but just seeking some MN reassurance! Also, if this doesn't clear up by d-day do you think I could pass it on during the birth??

Please tell me someone else has had this!!

Many thanks!

wow that sounds horrific for you, fancy having that for all that time and only being given the proper diagnosis and treatment now.
Im sure if there was a risk to the baby then the doctor would have mentioned it.

Not sure about passing it on to the baby during birth, whens your next midwife appointment? Better ask then

sorry couldnt be more helpful.
