missp2010 · 31/03/2011 21:21

Ooh you must be seriously fed up. I was overdue with DD, every day felt like a week!! Is this DC1?
Perhaps go for a long walk? Will you midwife do a sweep?
Have lots of sympathy for you. Hope your DD arrives soon.

Book some reflexology, I'm going tomorrow and actually only 39+4 but ready to go! With dc3 I went into labour within 24 hours, lady I booked with for tomorrow has done 5 recently and 4 out of 5 went into labour within 24 hours (I know her so she's not making it up!). Worth a try?

RobynLou · 31/03/2011 23:12

bless you! you have my sympathies - I went to 41+4 with DD2, was going in to be induced at 8am, but contractions started at 5am and she was born at 9am, so we escaped induction by the skin of our teeth!

Rachel1011 · 31/03/2011 23:21

lucky you!! i really want to avoid induction just feel times running out n have no signs so just keep my fingers crossed she makes a move soon =]

You've got time. A normal pregnancy is 37-42 weeks. I know it's tough but when they give you a 'due date' it just creates a lot of pressure when actually you're not overdue until 42 weeks +.

A sweep only works if the baby's about to come anyway. None of the other stuff is really proven to work and thankfully it's not about deciding when you want the baby to come but the baby coming when it's ready. You really wouldn't want it any other way.

It's flipping hard I know and I mean this message kindly. Try to enjoy these last days as much as you can (again, hard with all the insomnia, constant weeing and being kicked) but you're going to be a Mum within days. How brilliant is that?

mamamona · 01/04/2011 10:41

I really like your post pseudocreme :)

oggybags · 01/04/2011 12:55

me me me me im over due too, however since sweep & reflexology yesterday Ive been having either mild contractions or BH... time will tell which they are...

cloggs142 · 01/04/2011 21:58

me too! Im 10 days overdue. Have had two stretch n sweeps, neither of which worked :( Baby is back to back and have pretty bad spd and hip probs....so not a happy bunny! Been having loads of bhs but the little darling seems to just be too comfy in there. Finally got the date to be induced.....mothers day. oh the irony! haha. Hope all goes well with you! Hang in there, i know its miserable!

JoJoB77 · 02/04/2011 05:21

Did someone mention insomnia? Wink

I'm 40+3 and was starting to get fed up, but having read pseudocreme's post, I'm going to make the most of these last few days before I become a mummy.

Rachel1011, my midwife won't do a sweep until I'm term+7 too so due for that on Wednesday and then induction at term+10. They will offer another sweep inbetween that if I choose to have it (or I get that far!).

I should really try and get more sleep.....

RobynLou · 02/04/2011 11:15

just to say that although I was happy to escape induction this time, I was induced with DD1 and it was fine, she was born 12 hours after the induction started and it was v straighforward, no drips etc.

induction isn't always terrible if you get that far x

Oh and there were no signs that labour was going to start at all until it did for me!
