Ive had period type cramps every morning for the past three or four days. Are these braxton hicks? Im 32 weeks +4 today, should I be worried? Im seeing my midwife next friday so I shall mention them to her then aswell just wondering what you guys think.

I had similar last 2 days period-like cramps in tummya nd back, then yesterday had very strong braxton hicks, which were coming every 5 minutes. These were like someone squeezing your tummy hard and actually got quite painful. I called delivery suite as could not get hold of my midwife, went down there and was monitored for 5 hours, contracting every 2-3minutes, then asked for some paracetemol for backache and all seemed to stop! Sent home with painkillers. I think baby had moved, now apparently head is well down. I already have 2 boys both of whom were late arrivals, scared me yesterday when they started talking aboutspecial care cots and steroid injections, but really all quietened down now. No one could give me a reason for it, said it may happen again... I think that perhaps baby moving further down triggered contractions? Have you had lots of movement from baby? Perhaps give your midwife a call and talk it through with her? Is really hard to know, but they said to me in hospital to come straight back if anything similar... I would always rather go home with a sheepish red face than not do anything and regret it later! Good luck

thelizard thank you, I have rund my midewife and she said as the pain wasnt as strong today and Im just having period pain to monitor it today and she will see me tomorrow and discuss it further, but if I was to bleed or have contractions to go straight to the hospital. She suggested I take it easy today as well.
So will do.

Thank you again for your reply

No problems! Am 'resting today' also hence why I am on here so much! Off to see midwife in a bit, still having period-like cramps, but no more BH thank goodness. Luckily I had routine appointment scheduled for today anyway. As have lots of,questions from hospital yesterday. Have spent day sorting/tidying and then keep remembering I am supposed to be resting, oops. Feel very much like I did before I had each of my sons, which is scaring me a bit. Hope all goes well tomorrow, in the meantime, rest!!
