My mam used to say to me as a kid that she used to have a good memory, but when she fell pregnant with me she lost that and now she has a poor memory.

I noticed recently that my memory has been going extremely downhill. I had a miscarriage in January (RIP

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

From what I have read, 'mummy brain' does exist (something to do with the hormones in pregnancy which have an affect on your brain cells) but my understanding is that it is temporary. Apparently memory is supposed to return to normal in the year after pregnancy. I don't know at what stage during the pregnancy 'mummy brain' kicks in, though.

If you're concerned about your memory, perhaps mention it to your GP...?

So sorry to hear about your loss, Kazine x

I don't know about memory loss, but my theory is that once you are pregnant/have been pregnant (and become a mum, or not), you constantly have something else on your mind (your baby/child/pregnancy/past pregnancy). It's like a switch is flipped in your brain and everything else just seems a bit trivial besides the survival and wellbeing of your child.

It might be worth mentioning to your GP, in case there is something physical/hormonal going on. Take care x

I totally second what MrsBloomingTroll said, there's always something to think about when you're pregnant/have been pregnant.

My memory is really crap now as I have 3 lots a dental/doctor/optician appointments to think of, dinners, school PE kits, reading books....

God it never ends.

I'm truly sorry to hear of your miscarriage xxx
