Scans: baby in "wrong" position due to time of day?

Had 20-week scan today for DC2 and all appeared well, but the baby was in a position that meant the sonographer couldn't check everything she needed. I was sent to walk around twice in order to get the baby into the right position, to no avail. It seemed like most of the ladies having scans at the same time (just after lunch) had to do the same. I have to go back next week.

I had five scans with DD1 and never once had to do this. She was always in the right position. The scans with her were, from memory, all first thing in the morning.

I'm wondering if there might be a connection between the time of day/fullness of my stomach and the baby not being in the "right" position for the scan. Any ideas?

No idea, I imagine it's just a coincidence otherwise they'd either tell you not to have lunch or only carry out scans in the morning! I'm also not sure that your stomach is close enough to your uterus at 20 weeks to make a difference.
