i have just moved and just found out I am pregnant again.

i love my old gp and had a great experience at the hospital giving birth on the nhs the first time.

can i stay with my practice (is not that far, but is out of the catchment)?
more importantly can i go to the same hospital or do I have to go to the one closer to me?

It all depends on your address and catchment as this is how their funding is determined at present. I'm only moving 2 miles but have to change GP and the midwives won't visit the week after baby is born as we'll have moved so I'll have to register and see if the new are midwives will come out.

The hospital choice you get also depends on the catchment but as theirs are bigger you might still be in luck depending on how far you've moved. Your new GP will have a list they can refer you to I think.

When I was in London I moved a few streets out of my GP catchment area and they de-registered me as a patient without telling me, so you may need to be a bit careful with that one!

I'm no longer in London so don't know exact details about maternity services there but I was offered a choice of hospital by my GP and other posts on here imply that this isn't unusual.

Congratulations Smile
