I've been on their web site and others, and as usual with anything to do with preg. advice its all a bit vague.

I neeeeeeeed to take something! I've eaten prunes and it worked, but now i'm realy sick of them. But - and sorry about this - it's starting to get like i need to holler for gas and air when it's time to go to the loo these days Shock don't want to get piles ....

Used senacot b4 pg. occasionally -

what do you think ladies?? x

Dunno but fibergel is ok in pregnancy

TheChewyToffeeMum · 29/03/2011 08:11

No - theoretically it can stimulate the uterus through the same action of stimulating the bowel.

Go to a chemist and they can advise something safer. In the meantime keep taking plenty fibre and drink lots of water to go along with it.

jasmine51 · 29/03/2011 08:14

I understood not safe but lactulose is my answer.

bonnymiffy · 29/03/2011 08:49

My sister used lactulose, don't think it's nice but it worked for her. Luckily I like prunes! But I've got piles anyway... I would ask your midwife if you're due to see her soon, if not ask a chemist. I was in pain last week with constipation even though I'm normally the last person to suffer. Keep drinking plenty of water and eating the fibre...

THANK YOU! xxx

Down to the chemist tomorrow then. Fibergel it is i think. I don't realy care if it tastes foul or not - there's just only so much prunes/brown bread you can eat in a week Smile specialy if you're not that keen on either of them...

You could also try lactulose or psyllium husks. Or ask the pharmacist.

branflakes all the way here (three times a day!) - it took a couple of weeks but it has kicked in wonderfully now!

syrup of figs, Boots own brand is fine, says so on the contraindications on the label and works. MIL is pharmacist so have double checked.
