No linea nigra- does it mean anything?

Hi had a quite apparent dark line last time I was pregnant. I'm 22 weeks with no. 2 and don't have one this time. Am I misermembering when the linea nigra appears? Do some people just not get one? Does it matter?

Guess I'm just looking for something (else) to worry about!

I didn't have one at all with either of my pregnancies, both DCs OK.

On #4 here. Never had one. Don't panic!

I had a really dark one last time and none so far (at 24 weeks with this one). I think it's a girl this time (boys last time)...

I didn't have one with DC1, no sign of one for DC2 as yet.

have 2 DDs and never had one. I always thought it is down to your pigmentation. I am sickly pale and thought I therefore didn't get one...

I have it but it didn't appear until about 34 weeks. Like stretch marks its just one of those things it doesn't mean anything. If that's all you've got to worry about in your pregnancy so far then that's brilliant, try to focus on enjoying it instead :)

I had one with DC1 (girl), nothing with DC2 (girl) or this one (boy) !

Had one with DS1 but nothing with DS2. Don't think it was significant.

Ooh unless it's why DS1 is dark haired and DS2 is blonde?! :o

I didn't have one and my DD is a blondie - maybe BerryLellow is on to something!

I never got one with my first pg and DD's hair was almost black when she popped out, so not sure it's hair related... isn't it just random (like stretch-marks)?

I have a slight one, but didn't get it til around 30 weeks- am expecting a girl...Don't think it's means anything whether you have one or not.

I was very excited to spot one this time, appeared about a fortnight ago at 30 weeks. It's very faint though, and I didn't get one at all last time! (Both dds)

I had a very dark one with DS1 (and I am pretty pale skinned), and to be honest I don't think it properly went until DS1 was nearly 1 year (at which point I as just about pregnant again...)

However I am also wondering where it is this time! I am now 30 weeks with DS2 and no sign of it at all, I am SURE I had it by now. Doesn't matter but just made me curious too.

I think maybe it is because it is winter this time (well technically spring!) - although I didn't do any sunbathing last time, DS1 was born early October so I am sure some of that sun from a very sunny summer got through my clothes, and it relates to pigment after all.
