Hi there, I am 5 weeks pregnant and have been bleeding today continuously. It's stringy and dark red and et time bright red, it is definitely less than a period but has been ongoing today. I have a book scam for monday 4th of April as they say they do scan only at 6 weeks + so the wait is killing me. I have a 3 year old and when I was pregnant with her I did not have any of these. Anyone who has experienced such thing please let me know. By the way I do not have any pains or cramps.

Hi I'm not sure if I can help you or not but I didn't want to leave this unanswered. I miscarried about 9 months and IME I had cramps for 3 days before any bleeding started. When I started bleeding it was dark red almost brown and gradually got redder and more heavy. The Worst thing about MC is that no-one medically would help me or let me know exactly what was happening. If I were you I would maybe contact your MW or your doctors and explain the situation and see what they say. Hope things are ok x

Thanks for answering. I just do not know what to do. I do not see the point of contacting the doctor as I phoned the outhours surgery on sunday morning and was told I can only do a scan at 6 weeks still bleeding not a lot this morning mostly when I go for a wee but then quite a bit flows.. I think I'll wait for the scan next monday as I think nothing can really be done if I am mc I do not have much hope but I think it is better if it happens very early on rather than later on. Thanks anyway,

So sorry to hear about your m/c in January and yes I did a test on Sunday morning and bleeding started on saturday night. It was CB digital and it said pregnant but since then the bleeding has been a bit more and I haven't done any further tests. Still no pains or cramps I think I might go the A & E tomorrow will see how I feel but will definitely post again.

Went to hospital today they did a urine test negative and blood test as well came back neg. So do noe understand I had a positive on on Sunday morning well. The sensations in my breasts since last week were gone to me so I do not know all I know I had 3 positive pregnancy tests and feel a bit confused right now. I think blood is definitely a cause to worry in pregnancy even without cramps or pains as I did not have any cramps or pains. But the plus side is I would rather this happens in early days than when I was far gone. I will rather have a healthy baby than a baby with health problems or anything else that's how I think everyone should be thinking and be positive otherwise you cannot pull yourself and carry on. Every thing happens for a reason.

I'm going through exactly the same Arista. I had a MC in October so we were overjoyed to get pregnant again. I only just let myself believe it at 5 weeks 4 days. They I started to bleed. The bleeding has been dark brown, and there's been no significant clots, nor pain. With my MC is October I had no pain but bled so much, red and full of clots. I still feel nauseous and fatigued but my boobs which were on fire aren't burning now so I think the worst may have happened. My scan is on Tuesday 4th. Has anyone had these symptoms and not MC?

I wanted to ask did any of you had been examined or had a scan to confirm it was gone. I mean can you miscarry and still have a part that stay inside. I do not know whether I am sounding silly to ask this but I just wanted to know whether if your hcg is low like mine was 2 does that mean all is gone and I can try again whenever also how do you work out you last period know do you need to leave it a month to know when you are ovulating. Good luck to you beefcake hope you are not in the same case as it is upsetting. Thunderboltkid yes I will try whenever I feel ready and I think I will longer this time may be 5 weeks to do a test. Good luck to you hope everything goes fine this time

I had a scan at 7 weeks which was inconclusive so I had to go back at 9 weeks. This showed that I'd passed everything naturally and also an egg was preparing to be released! How clever is that!? I think knowing early is really hard but even without doing a test I knew I was pregnant - no pmt causes boob growth the way pregnancy does. Good luck Arista.

Congratulations thunderboltkid :)

arista · 01/04/2011 15:13

Hi Beefcake I am going for the scan on Monday3rd to see whether everything is gone and no residue left and then I'll see whether to try again. Hope things work out for you on Tuesday let us know. Good luck to you too.

Arista how did it go? I'm going out of my mind waiting for this scan. I've imagined every pregnancy symptom bar the sore boobs so far yet at the same time won't let myself believe for a minute that I haven't miscarried. 1.30 today is scan time. Let me know I hope it was good news for once for you Arista

PoppysMom · 05/04/2011 08:04

Good luck for your scan, beefcake. Let us know how it goes

sunshinehugs · 05/04/2011 09:22

Hi, 6 weeks gone and I've had a dull period pain type ache for a couple of days then last night the worst pain ever for about 40mins in the middle of the night. All settled at the moment but petrified and staying at home as advised by the midwife just worrying! No bleeding yet which is a good sign but no guarentee.... been told if I do start they will see me at the antenatal department. Great to hear your stories and that you can get pregnant again reasonably quickly (fingers crossed!) , as you say arista better that it happens early. Good luck with today beefcake, we'll be thinking of you!

beefcake · 05/04/2011 18:53

Hi, we are devastated as the scan showed a complete miscarriage. I've had a blood test to check my Hcg levels and they are only slightly elevated so I've booked in with my doctor to see what's next. I also think I'm going to try anything and everything - massage, reflexology, even accupuncture although that's way down my list as I hate needles. As Arista said best it happened early but really awful that it's happened at all. Feeling numb.

Thanks PoppysMum and sunshinehugs for your wishes.

PoppysMom · 06/04/2011 01:52

Oh I am so sorry for your loss beefcake!

arista · 14/04/2011 14:48

Hi beefcake So sorry to hear about your loss. I did wish your will be different as I know how it feels.

sorry haven't been on the site for a while. For me at the hospital they did not do a scan as my blood test showed hcg levels of only 2 so they said all has gone otherwise it would have been a lot higher. I think remaining positive and thinking it would have been worse it has happened later on is all we both can do in this situation.
