telling DH about BFP

DH's birthday today, spent the afternoon in the pub then DS really needed to go to bed so I brought him home (am knackered and have a cold anyway). Normally have huge gaps between periods, it's been 35 so tested. Promptly forgot about test....half an hour later have a BFP (baby is planned btw and we've been trying since June, I just did not expect a BFP at all)

DH called before I took the test when I told him to stay out as late as he likes - it's his 30th, I wanted to get an early night anyway and it's been ages since he had a good night out with his mates.

Do I call him or wait til he comes home and tell him face to face? Bearing in mind I seriously need to go to bed, but will wake when he does get home...

Like your DH, OP, I found out I was expecting (planned) DS1 on my 30th birthday. Made for a quite a celebration.

Hahah, Foxy, that's brilliant.

Loving these stories.

I was so shocked that I don't think I actually told DP I was pregnant, I just kind of waved the stick at him. He tells me now that I was so pale and shaky he thought I was about to pass out, so it's a good job he worked it out himself and i didn't have to mutter the actual words! I'd had a miscarriage and three gynae surgeries in the year before I got pregnant so we didn't actually think it would be possible to conceive.

Ooh, congratulations!

Also, thank you for your positive story jenga I'm going through something similar post 2 miscarriages and am wondering if will ever happen for us...

Chin up mouse. It really is possible, but it may happen when you least expect it! Good luck!

Congratulations GirlWithTheMouseyHair!

I was really mean with my DH!We did it first thing in the morning (per the instructions) and he was laying in bed waiting for me to say... and I came out and did the old 'fake-out' saying it was a no no... then5 seconds later cracked into a grin and said 'yeh I am!'

He was over the moon and so happy, i thought it was brilliant, but he's since confessed I was really mean, and it almost made him cry because he was so sad when I said no! :( ooops!
