Washing all my baby's items??

I've been told by a number of people to wash all the baby's clothes, moses basket and cot bedding e.t.c But noone has mentioned about washing the baby swing fabric, pram or car seat.
Is there a reason to that, as obviously they all carry the same sort of fabric chemicals that your expected to wash out to be safe around your baby.
Im a little confused now and im now not sure if i need to start taking things apart to wash... I dont really fancy having to wash the swing, pram and car seat fabrics..?

We washed clothes and sheets but no car seat etc. My reasoning would be that you would want to wash anything that would come into contact with their face, mouth, be sucked etc. If they are just sitting on it I wouldn't bother and have never heard of anybody else doing so. Car seat covers are a right faff to get on and off, most people wash them as little as possible :o

Some babies really do have sensitive skin so I would probably do it all. My colleague's GD has terrible reactions to lots of things including pampers nappies! Confused

I think it really depends though on when your baby will be born and therefore how much their skin will come into contact with those fabrics.

I have washed my car seats fabrics and my first pushchair's fabrics and I didn't find it hard at all. Just make sure you keep the instructions for reassembling them if you do do it. And if you are doing it, make sure it's before the baby's born because you won't find time afterwards! Grin I've been meaning to wash the car seat fabrics for weeks and haven't got round to it because it's always being used.
