Smoking

Sadly, DH is a smoker (much to my disgust). He has a smoking room upstairs at the back of the house, and always keeps the door shut and the windows open.

Do you think this is enough, or should I banish him outside (I'm 5 weeks if that makes any difference)? If so, do you have any tips on making him do this? He does seem to be in total denial about the damage smoking can do, and when I try and broach the subject I am branded 'Mumzilla' or a nagging wife. Do you think the words of another family member could help?

Outside outside outside! DH has smoking shed instead...maybe you could try that?

Personally he'd have to be outside for me. However, you did decide to haev a baby together knowing he is a smoker so I can understand his annoyance.

Maybe take him to your next antenatal & ask the MW or Dr, doubt he will be as dismissive then?

Outside definitely!!! DH was a smoker when I got pg with DD1 - around 6/7 weeks, morning (read 24/7) sickness hit me like a train, along with immense bloodhound like capability - my nose was so sensitive, if I was in a room with someone who'd had a fag or coffee within the previous half hour, I'd gag.

So he was moved ouside and I had to wash all curtains, febreeze or something the carpets etc etc....

Has he read this ?
Or this
this,
this or
this?

Frankly he needs to think seriously about giving up as even if he changed all his clothes and had a shower after smoking he would still be transferring chemicals to your baby. Hopefully he will listen to your midwife and the antenatal smoking cessation team.

Congratulations!!

Now get him outside! (I used to only smoke outside my own house years before any chance of DC!)

FWIW the Allen Carr book worked for me & DH when we gave up.
