this might be a silly question but when should i expect my booking in appointment?

I filled out a self referral for my local hospital and they sent me a scan date for my 10th week but nothing else. Should I be expecting to see someone else before that, or just wait until after?

I don't know about your area, as I believe some are different, but for mine I needed a GP's appointment first, who then confirmed I was pg and referred me to MW who made my booking in appointment. I don't think some areas need the GP stage and you can just go straight to MW

10 weeks seems early as mine was made for 12, but then I only have my experience, others may be able to share different viewpoints

And congratations! :)

Are you having an NT scan? If so I'd get in touch with the hospital and point out your dates, because the ideal timeframe for an NT scan doesn't kick in til 11w.

I'm at Kingston, who allow self-referral as well as GP referral, and I self-referred. I had my booking appointment at 10w and my NTscan at 12w6d. I'd call your hospital and ask -- they're the experts in what your Trust offers.

I phoned the midwife when I knew I was pregnant and she booked my booing in appoitment for 10 weeks. she said she expected i'd have had my first scan before then.
I didn't need to see my GP at all.

Thanks all, called the hospital and they had made a mistake so now booked in for appointment with midwife at 10 weeks and scan just before 12

My midwife aims to do all hers on the Thursday when you are in week 9. My booking in appt was made at my first appt when i was 5 weeks old, and in our surgary that is also a midwife appt (not a drs appt, like some other surgaries) so it meant my midwife had her personal diary at the 5 week appt and arranged it with her personally there and then, straigt into her own diary

In our surgary booking in appts are home visits, and she does the bookings in every Thursday.
