Morning sickness

I must be mad but I am desperately waiting for morning sickness to kick in as confirmation that I really and truly am pregnant, as I have read that if you have ms then you are less likely to miscarry.

So.. How many weeks were you when your morning sickness made an appearance?! I'm 5 weeks tomorrow so still early days!

i got mine at 7/8 weeks and it went at 11 weeks but lots of people have successful pregnancy without it.

OrangeGloss · 27/03/2011 13:55

I got mine at 8 weeks, but agree with the post above

nancy10 · 27/03/2011 14:29

I started being sick from around the 8 week mark until 16 weeks, but not every day. I was physically sick 2-3 times a week and felt nauseous the rest of the time. Whereas in two previous pregnancies I was sick all the way through and was practically housebound. My sister on the other hand has 4 dc and has never ever experienced any kind of sickness???

laabama · 27/03/2011 14:32

I'm 8 weeks and it's not really kicked in. Have had a couple of days feeling a bit 'off' but that's it. Lack of symptoms = major neurosis!!! I do think that the amount of info available in books and on the internet can sometimes be as bad as it is helpful as you (well, I know I do!) start self-diagnosing issues and problems where one might not really exist!!! The overwhelming message I've seen on chats / forums about lack of ms or other symptoms is to just try not to worry and enjoy it!

Staceroo · 27/03/2011 16:04

I have the same concerns... I'm anywhere between 7and 10 weeks (awaiting dating scan) and am concerned that not been sick yet! Had about three days when I felt nausious and I've been really tired, but not actually been sick once! Is that normal? Especially worried as the last two days I've felt right as rain! Know I should be greatful, but can't help but panic!

lolajane2009 · 27/03/2011 16:08

staceroo it is perfectly normal to get a lot or no morning sickness at all. all pregnancy symptoms are different for all people.

nannyl · 27/03/2011 16:37

5+3 = nausea
5+6 = actual vomitting
by 7+1 weeks i had been diagnosed with hyperemisis, and a few days later was admited to hospital with severe dehydration.
Between weeks 6 & 9 i lost a stone in weight
weeks 6 - 12 i hardly got out of bed at all, and only left house for medical (pg / sickness related) appointments and was signed off

I am now 16 weeks, am taking max dose of anti-sickness tablets, and still sick pretty much every day, often many times. Most days i make it out of bed though which is a big improvement.

Wouldnt wish to feel like this ever! When i was really ill, the day before i was admitted to hospital i felt so ill i honestly thought i would die!

OP i think you should enjoy every day you are feeling well Smile, and I hope you dont spend 2 months feeling like death in bed!

PrincessScrumpy · 27/03/2011 16:39

I only had about 3 days of it with dd (now 3), with this pg I was very excited it started as it confirmed pg - after 7 weeks of being sick throughout the day and sometimes in the middle of the night, I was less excited. Now it's getting better but comes in waves. I'm 15 w with ID twins and it's been very different from pg with dd!

TheFantasticFixit · 27/03/2011 21:22

No doubt I will be back onb here soon moaning about how sick I am - Nannyl I take your point and so sorry you have felt so rotten! Hope you feel better soon.

Princess - massive congrats on your twins - lovely!

Staceyroo - I know exactly how you feel; you have my sympathies. I am symptom spotting all the time just to confirm it in my head! I'm driving myself crazy - I've almost persuaded my fiance that we should shell out for a scan which I know is ridiculous.

Congratulations everyone on your pregnancies - it's absolutely amazing!

With DD, I never had any sickness. With my miscarriage, I never had any sickness. I am now 10 weeks and just beginning to feel less sick (felt sick from about week 4) but now ridiculously tired.
If you are worried, do you have a hospital near you that has a walk in clinic for early pregnancies? (If you are in London, UCLH does and they will give you an early scan).

TheFantasticFixit · 27/03/2011 21:59

ooo i didn't know that pudding - definitely something to bear in mind!

I saw my Dr today and she said that it was perfectly normal not to have any real symptoms or ms, so I think just enjoy the fact that you feel well!

Staceroo · 28/03/2011 20:55

Well in an update... after saying symptons faded over the last two days... felt really nauseous again today and very tired with achey boobs again! Perhaps I was just nice and relaxed over theweekend, and back at work has bought it all back! Still not actually been sick though! Reading the above advice, am beginning to feel quite greatful!

TheFantasticFixit it won't be long before we get our scans and can begin to relax! I'm resisting the urge to do another test, so sure you can resist the need to pay for an early scan!

TheFantasticFixit · 29/03/2011 15:21

Oh Staceroo I so so hope so. I know 6-7 weeks isn't that long away and yet it feels like an age!

My OH says that we can't have the scan anyway and have to wait like everybody else to have ours at 12 weeks. I know he is being sensible and he is right but argh! I want to see my foetus!

I bizarrely felt very sick yesterday (but not so much today) and wondered whether it was work influencing it! Grin
