We went to the NCT sale in Cambridge this afternoon and OMG, that wasn't for the faint hearted was it! It was successful though - enough reusable nappies to see us through the first 6 months plus a baby bouncer for £60! I'm feeling quite smug. Hooray!

local think it depends on the sale, you may need to go to a couple to get one you like at a price you are willing to pay.

minibmw think you had the right idea in joining the nct, I know lots of people who join simply to get into sales early, taking DH was a good idea too. I usually take MIL as DH is always at work.

They sell prams and pushchairs but are not allowed to sell car seats. Someone I know got around his by selling her system without the car seat on but with a big note attached saying "if you want the car seat to go with this please ring me" and her number.

well back & survived, lol. it was well worth paying extra to start early, thought it was quite good.

got:-

jeans
combats
4 tops
play gym - baby smile.
moby wrap
cot bumper toy thingy
for £45 which wasn't too bad I didn't think, esp as £18 of that was the wrap & gym. Sods law we have another closer to home next week as well so will have a mooch there for good luck.

some of the bits however were a little very well worn - I suspect due to the area I was in it was the best of said area iycwim? perhaps another might be better?

david think it does entirely depend on the area. We llve inbetween 2. I would travel for one but not for the other.
