Funny vision - blind spots/flashing lights but low BP

Any medics around? I'm 22ish weeks pregnant and currently in the middle of my second episode of eye weirdness - shimmering type blind spot right in front of my eyes. Have done some googling (difficult!) and internet seems to think that it's most likely to be pre-eclampsia but I have low BP, not high Confused

Any other ideas? Should I be worried? Second pregnancy so not due to see MW again for about a month. First episode was couple of weeks ago, comes on very suddenly and wears off after 30-40 min but annoying in the meantime. Have very vague memories of this happening last time round but may be wrong about that (low BP throughout/no pre-eclampsia last time).

TIA (and apologies for typos!) :)

You should get any visual disturbances checked out by the doctor. I'm not medically trained.

It does sound like ocular migraines which I had all the way through my pregnancy. Just annoying but nothing else.

I had this when I was pregnant with dd and as I was working at a hospital at the time I went to A&E to get my blood pressure checked (which was fine) and they sent me over to the emergency eye clinic. I can't remember quite what they told me, but I think that something had happened to the back of my eye (detached retina, burst blood vessel?) which had subsequently healed up again. There are a few reasons for getting floaters in pregnancy which aren't related to blood pressure, most totally benign, but a couple more serious, so it's worth getting it checked out just in case.

It's very weird though - I remember I had the first episode when I was getting my hair cut. Really disorientating.

Get yours checked out, but when my blood pressure gets really low I get weird visual disturbances - lights, flashing, floaters. The doc just said it was all fine. So it doesn't always have to be high blood pressure that makes your eyes go weird. But do get it checked out. You can't be too careful with your eyes.

Thanks for the replies - ocular migraines really rings a bell through the haze of the last couple of years but will try to get it checked out in case it's anything more serious.
