could be, or maybe just braxton hicks.
how many weeks are you?

onepieceoflollipop · 25/03/2011 21:20

How many weeks are you Rachel?
Wishing you all the best. :)

My braxton hicks seemed to be over the whole bump and more like a tightening than a dull ache at the bottom as you describe.
If you are still unsure by bedtime, go to bed anyway (perhaps have a warm bath and a snack?). No good being up half the night worrying or wondering if "this is it?"
Try and get some sleep later.

Rachel1011 · 25/03/2011 21:22

Have you got a dp/dh there with you? Or if not perhaps a rl (real life) friend for reassurance. It's very exciting, not long now even if you are not having contractions it won't be very many more weeks. :)

thisisyesterday · 25/03/2011 21:26

might just be the build up, your body getting ready for it all...! exciting Grin

Rachel1011 · 25/03/2011 21:26

The last few days/weeks seem to go on forever. However you will have a baby very soon. Grin
My babies are now 7 and 3 (years!)

thefirstMrsDeVere · 25/03/2011 21:29

Are they are period type pains?
They may be early contractions but that doesnt mean baby is on its way just yet. You can get niggling pains for days and days (sorry).

Anyhoo you will know one way or the other soon Smile

Do let us know though, we love a labour thread!

Rachel1011 · 25/03/2011 21:29

We will eagerly await further news.
One night I woke up "in labour" and made the sandwiches (lots of 'em) to take to hospital...then felt ok so went back to bed. Didn't give birth til 2 weeks later!
Do you have a name for your baby girl or is it a secret?

Rachel1011 · 25/03/2011 21:34

2weeks later woow lol...that must of been a stressfull wait! yeh were going to call her ellie =].

OP posts:
onepieceoflollipop · 25/03/2011 21:35

Beautiful name.

Yeah, it was a long wait (for dd1 anyway, dd2 was only 2 days "late")

we ate the sandwiches for lunch the next day, saved me having to make more. Grin

bessie26 · 25/03/2011 21:36

With DD, I woke up about 3 in the morning with a dull kind of stomach ache that came on & off roughly every 5 mins - I went & told the nurse (in hospital as my waters had broken the previous day) who gave me a couple of paracetamol & told me to sleep while I could "just in case" - when I woke again at 8 they had stopped, but they started a couple of hours later & I had DD later that day Grin

so... sleep! (just incase) and let us know how you get on!

Rachel1011 · 25/03/2011 21:52
