Swollen, itchy feet - is this normal, and what can I do?

My feet are just so huge and I am only 10 weeks pregnant. I didn't have anything like this with my last baby, they did get 1/2 a size bigger but them went back to normal shortly afterwards. My toes are really red and feel itchy. I've had athlete's foot in my big toe before and it feels like that.

Is this normal? And what can I do about it? Feeling very miserable

At 10 weeks it is unlikely to be anything really scary like blood pressure or cholestasis, but you do need to get your feet checked out with the doctor if its making you miserable. It could be you have a skin infection on your feet or something and he can prescribe some safe cream or lotion for them. It's best to get anything checked out during pregnancy though even if you do feel like you are camping out in your doctors surgery, its always important to treat things before they become an issue.

Hope that helps. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Hockeymum. I think it is water retention, and trying hard to drink tonnes and tonnes of water each day (sickness allowing), which seems to be helping. I am also on only cotton socks, bigger size shoes and no shoes where at all possible. One or all of these things seem to be working.
