Is it too early to start the bag?

I'm almost 30 weeks and up until now my hospital bag has just been a fleeting though but I'm starting to wonder if I should at least start putting things in it like baby vests, hats, maternity pads and so on? Probably seems like a naive question to some but I feel like I've got aaaagggges left but then there's a realisation that I might not actually have all that long! :-/

I started stocking up on stuff like breastpads when I was about 30 weeks, but I'm 36+1 now, and still haven't actually packed anything. Admittedly, I'm having a homebirth, but I was still going to get a box ready with pads/babygrows/vests/nappies for afterwards and another one for things during labour.
do whatever makes you feel comfortable, but I'd suggest that if you pack a bag now, write a list of what's in it and put it on top, so you don't forget and have to keep checking it.

DH bought the baby a car seat when I was 12 weeks pregnant. I can't remember when I packed my bag but it was before 36 weeks. When I ended up having my baby I had nothing with me as it was an emergency and we had practised taking the bag in the day before for another appointment.

My advice, pack your bag now and take it with you every time you go to hospital!

I started collecting bits at about 30 weeks just in case, didn't start packing it until I was 36 weeks when my mw told me baby's head was engaged and I should pack the bag just in case.

Am now 38+4 and still no action. Have just put my snacks in and still haven't got TENS pads and a few other things Blush

No harm in starting early.
