We are so stuck. We really want to honour both our cultures but boys names are sooo much harder to agree on than girls names! The only name I like common to both traditions is Zacharia but DH's brother is already called that and we have one on our street. I'm not a huge fan of Adam or Sami (bit plain), DH doesn't like Noah (something about an ark). Any name seems like a bit of a compromise at the moment... please help!!

I think they have probably decided on a name 5 years later Grin

Ha ha! Oops! (Wish I knew what they'd chosen now)

We are Christian and my daughter in law is Muslim awaiting our first grandson. She chose Zayn which does not show our culture. She told us to come up with hybrid boy names. Please help! From, Sheri

Hi! I love the name Abigail. Abi or Billie can be the nn. I know a Billie Janna

Harris or Raess (pronounced Reece you could play with the spelling?)

I had this exact same issue OP. I am English and OH is Turkish and we wanted to find a name that we can easily use in both countries with no special characters or anything.

Girls names are so easy but boys names are a nightmare!! Thankfully, we are having a little girl (phew!)

We never did agree on a boys name but some I liked (which OH did not) were Danyal, Sami, Eren and Kamran.

Good luck!

@megapixels correct, Aslan is lion in Turkish. It's actually a really popular boys name in Turkey....i know a few little Aslan's and they are adorable!

I am expecting a baby girl.I am Christian and my husband is Muslim. Could you please suggest me some girl names?

These are some Arabic names that go nicely in english as well (in my opinion):
Leila
Aliya
Lena (pronounced leena)
Lara
Noor

Sorry forgot to tag you @cj1017

@cj1017 how about Maryam or a related name? Maryam (Mary) is respected in both Christianity and Islam as the mother of Isa (Jesus) so it could be a nice way of honouring both faiths.
