I would really appreciate some advice and reassurance please.

Had a mc in December at 7 weeks, got pregnant again in January so now am 12 weeks (just today).
I started feeling crap last night and thought my morning sickness had intensified again (got better at the end of 10 weeks). Also had sore throat. Today I started feeling crap early morning, thought it was Koenig sickness until at 10 ish I realised that I had aches all over, my skin felt in pain and exhausted beyond usual pregnancy symptoms. Returned from the park with my 2.7 ds Nd slept badly till 4 when I got my temperature and it was 38 C. That's about 101 F. Advised by obstetrician friend I tool panadol and an antibiotic tablet. 4 hours later, my fever is higher, at 38.4 and I fear I'm boiling the baby! Nhs direct said I should wear light clothes and open the windows, did the latter but when remove my light blanket I feel horribly cold and shivery. The hair on my skin is standing up, I can't continue in the cold so have re-covered myself. What would you do please?

Drink plenty of fluids (preferably water) and take paracetamol every 4 hours to help with the fever. Have you tried using a cool (not cold) flannel on the back of your neck/wrists/forehead to try cooling you down?

Sorry, can't offer much more advice. Get back in touch with NHS direct if you're feeling worse of your fever continues to rise and hope you feel better soon.
