Pregnant after pneumothorax

I had a spontaneous pneumothorax January 2010 and am now 15 weeks pregnant. I had to have operation to fix lung (bullectomy and pleural abrasion) and still get some pain from it but this has definately increased over the last week. I'm starting to dread getting bigger and the baby squashing my lung. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this so I know what to expect? Midwife couldn't really tell me. Thanks.

This is tricky because of reluctance to give you an xray, pain relief is limited and pneumothorax can carry possibility of chronic pain.

You really need to get an appointment with your chest specialist, the pain team at your local hospital and who ever will be looking after you during your pregnancy for advice.

Good luck boba.

Thanks cherry. I have had several xrays prior to being pregnant and they are happy with the lung. It hasn't collapsed again so I am no longer under cardiovascular care. The pain I get is from the staple and nerve damage around the entry sites. I will mention again to midwife at next appt.
