My skin is breaking out quicker than I can type this message - on my chin and nose, and very attractively, on my back too.

What remedies are safe to use during pregnancy?

Anyone? Just in case I wasn't clear, my skin is terrible at the moment with spots!

Ooo I feel ur pain! I get this every pregnancy...luckily it does pass and then, oddly, I find my skin is the best it ever is for the rest of pregnancy!
I use good old sudocrem...

Bodyshop cactus bristle brush for your back. Scrub nightly (or get your DH to do it) if your skin can take it.

Oil cleansing method for face (google it, or search on here). Felt very alien to me but has worked an absolute treat and after using it since 10 weeks pg and suffering from breakouts (now 35 weeks) have the clearest skin I have ever had since aged about 13. It worked within a few days.

Really feel for you as I had this while pregnant and bfing. The only thing that works is a roll on solution the GP can prescribe. Really sorry but I can't remember what it's called though.

Thanks everyone, I will try the things mentioned. Hate having to cover up with lots of make-up, and can't wear anything that reveals my back. Pretty depressing.

I've used the roll on prescription thing before (Googled it, it's zineryt lotion) as have had previous problems. Didn't think I could use whilst pg, but I think you can.

I got spots on my back, chest and neck, hated them more than if I got them on my face, made me feel really grubby Sad I started using Jason Tea Tree Body wash , it really works, I buy mine in a health food store but you can get it on Amazon. Definately worth a try, it works immediately. Good luck, spots can be so depressing.

Thanks for the recommendation recklesspixie, I'll give everything a go at the moment. Know what you mean - I had a back massage the other day (booked way before outbreak of spots) and was cringing that the poor beauty therapist had to touch my back.

I really feel for you, Saffra, it's horrible to try and cope with. I struggled with spots for two out of my three pregnancies, but this time my GP prescribed benzoyl peroxide which has made such a massive difference to me - and I have tried a lot of things! Suggest you check out the acne.org website which has a really simple three step regimen which has worked absolute miracles with my skin, and talk to your GP about it. It has really helped and this time my skin has been so much better than with my first pregnancy which was just miserable.

Hth - and good luck with rest of pregnancy x
